So you have a shiny new iPhone, and you’ve been taking some sweet videos eh? Want to share them with the world, but you don’t want to send a mass email or post to Youtube? Facebook is a great place to share photos and videos, but the current Facebook Mobile app has no way to share videos from your iPhone.
Fortunately there is a way around this. It is called posterous. Posterous.com is a really cool site that allows you to make and post to a blog right from email. If you want to make an account, it is free and really easy. You can go to www.posterous.com, or if you want, you can just send an email message to post@posterous.com. They will email you back and walk you through setting up your account. In the “Manage My Account” section, you can customize the title and url of your new blog from the settings link or otherwise manage your blog like any other blogging client.
The cool thing about posterous is that you can send a single email, and not only will it post a lovely blog entry, but it can also post to twitter, facebook, another blog, flickr, etc. To set these things up, click the “Autopost to Everywhere” link on the right side.
So how do you post videos to Facebook straight from your iPhone? It is pretty easy. First, make sure you enable Facebook from your posterous page. Click the button to autopost videos, and you’re set. Then, all you have to do after shooting and trimming a video on your iPhone is to hit the little share button and email it to post@posterous.com or to facebook@posterous.com. It will convert your video and send it to be immediately viewable on Facebook and on your posterous blog. =)
